What's Next After Furniture Removals

After a long moving day, the same journey just begins again, but only in the new house. Take your free time to get used to the new environment, check and double-check the presence of all the items and objects, according to the moving checklist. Then, begin un-boxing and arranging the items. Yet these are only a couple of things that are about to happen after furniture removals. Take a look at the following highlights and you will find more.

  • Start with unpacking the boxes with the objects that you need overnight. From blankets, to mobile connections, cosmetics and food - there are plenty of more important things than unpacking the big heavy furniture, for example. On the next morning, you will have plenty of time to un-pack the chairs, the kitchen tables, the sofas, and the other larger items. The biggest objects also require more time for reassembling and so you should take your free time to make the organization in the best way.

  • Spend another couple of hours to meet the neighbors. Let's talk about the new quarter, about the kids’ new school, and the local park. Invite the neighbors for a cup of coffee or tea, because it is important that they like you from the first moment of your arrival.

  • Schedule cleaning the new house for at least a couple of days. One good weekend might be required to organize the disposal of waste from the removal boxes and from the wrapping materials. Ask a reliable removal company in advance, whether they offer complimentary services such as recycling services or money return for unused boxes.

  • There are some important tips to use at the very beginning of moving day too. As soon as the big moving van arrives in front of the new house, get started with a quick inspection of the route to the front door of your house. You don't want to risk damaging the objects while handling along a terrain with obstacles. Get rid of any debris like fallen branches, leaves, rocks or dirt. Make sure to know whether there are only a few stairs or you have to overcome a long and steep stairway before the entrance to the house. One, this check will ensure the safety of your items and two, it will facilitate the unloading procedures of the removal van.

  • When everything is unloaded, un-boxed and arranged, perhaps a week after the move - don't forget to begin a thorough deep cleaning of the entire house. Make sure to clean the entire house and not only the rooms or the areas that see the greatest hustle and bustle during the unpacking of your possessions. Ensure the healthy environment in the new house and don't forget to wipe off dust.

  • When unloading the moving van, ask the moving crew to help you with the arrangement of your items by unloading the boxes as close as possible to their designated locations. Give the moving checklist with a sketching of the floor map of the new house and highlight the exact spots of every box. Thus, the movers will know where exactly to unload the giant furnishings or objects.

  • Prepare sandwiches for the first moments after the move. The long day of furniture removals, handling, and un-boxing will be truly overwhelming, and so it is better to have a special prepared box with food. Give sandwiches to the kids, have your pet’s favorite toy, and bring at least a couple of bottles of water.
